Hi, I'm Michael Colter ( Mike ). My passion is Photography and the challenge of capturing the things that memories are made of, from a chickadee grabbing a sunflower seed to an Eagle diving through the air to the river below to grab a fish. Capturing the beauty of the sun rising on the Atlantic to the sun setting in the Pacific and all of the things that we see between. With the warmth of the spring sun that brings life to the trees, flowers and new life that will walk this Great Earth. Then comes the gentle summer stream and Fireflies at night, to the blaze of the autumn tree that are preparing to hibernate through the cold winters nights These are the thing I love to capture with my Camera. As a teenager I started shooting with an Argus film camera and then progressed to newer cameras and am now using digital cameras. I'm a self taught photographer, learning with some trial and error. I put the camera down in the 80's and didn't start shooting again until 2003 when I purchased a Canon Digital Rebel and have since moved up to five different cameras. I enjoy capturing with the camera the things that my fourth great grandfather (John Colter) saw when he discovered the Yellowstone area with the Lewis and Clark expedition in the early 1800's. There's nothing like capturing the early morning mist on a river; a sunset that takes your breath away with its beauty; a cub bear lounging in a tree or an eagle landing in its nest with a fish. I shoot anything that captures my eye. My life's adventure would be to travel the world and photograph it. Thanks for stopping and I hope that you enjoy looking at my photography as much as I enjoyed capturing these images. Mike |
